League Format – 2008

• The league will consist of two divisions, A and B.
• The top 5 teams from the A division based on overall record from last year AND the winner of the B division from last year will automatically be in the A division.
• The season opening tournament will determine the remaining teams to be placed in the A division. All other teams will be placed in the B division.
• The season opening tournament will be played on May 10^th and 11^th.
• The regular season starts on May 17^th.
• We do not play on May 27^th, July 8^th, and July 22^nd.
• Playoffs will start the last weekend of the regular season (August 2^nd). Three playoff flights will be established based on the following:
• Playoff Flight 1 (Gold) – Top 4 teams from A and top team from B
• Playoff Flight 2 (Silver) – Teams 5-7 from A and teams 2-3 from B
• Playoff Flight 3 (Bronze) – All remaining teams

The playoffs will consist of three rounds. Round 1 will be single elimination and rounds 2 and 3 will be a “best out of 3”. The playoff schedule is as follows:

• Playoff Round 1 – August 2^nd
• Playoff Round 2 – August 2^nd
• Playoff Round 3 – August 3^rd

A1 and B1 will receive a first round bye for the Gold Flight, A5 and B2 for the Silver Flight, and byes for the Bronze Flight are to be determined.

Brackets will be generated by your seeding and will be made available online at gmsoftball.org.

• The season ending tournament will be played on August 9^th and 10^th and will be double elimination. Seeding for the bracket will be determined by your overall record (Runs Against is the tiebreaker).
